Chennai International Airport VOMM
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately, no one has produced any scenery for this important airport since the days of FS98/FS2000. The current project started out as a simple update of Ashwin Murali's FS2000 scenery of Chennai airport for my own use in FS2004; so firstly, thank you to Ashwin for his original work.

However, as I progressed, I found I wanted to change more and more elements: apart from a new FS9 AFCAD file for the airport, which I have made as close to the real-world airport as practical, I have removed the old static aircraft and any other scenery that may have been good in FS2000 but looked very out of place in FS2004; added new terminal buildings, replaced the jetways and other bitmaps with ones more atune to FS2004 graphics, as well as removing the old grass and concrete textures (the FS2000 textures were very blurred); I have made flatten and exclude files as necessary, correcting elevations to minimize scenery flicker.

The end result, whose real-world counterpart I have passed through many times (a far more 'laid back' entry into India than Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkata!), is not as perfect as I might have wanted and is certainly very far from being photoreal, but given that this is, as I say, the only VOMM scenery made in the past several years, it is as good as it is probably going to get (until someone creates a spectacular airport for FSX, or even "FSXI"!).

********************** Installation:

Extract the zip file to a temporary location and then move the folder 'Chennai VOMM' to wherever you store your addon scenery files. Don't forget to activate the scenery in FS9 in the usual way (lots of tutorials on line if you are not accustomed to this).
